In the early morning hours of a summer Sunday, tragedy struck on the near east side of Indianapolis. On July 13, 2025, police were called to the 500 block of North Parker Avenue after reports of gunfire shattered the neighborhood's calm. Inside a shed behind a home, officers discovered a man and a woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
