In the early morning hours of February 1, 2026, a dispute between occupants of two vehicles on the north side of Indianapolis escalated into a fatal shooting. The incident, which took place in the 6200 block of Meridian Street West Drive, resulted in the death of 37-year-old Robert Michael Bolden III. Another individual was also injured during the altercation.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired around 2 a.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical attention. Bolden, who was in critical condition, later succumbed to his injuries. The second victim was reported to be in stable condition.
According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an altercation between individuals in the two vehicles. However, authorities have not yet released a motive for the incident.
