Joseph S. Schroeder, aged 36, tragically died on October 7, 2016, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His death occurred following a tense standoff with police. On the night of October 6, 2016, officers were called to a residence on Stony Run Lane due to a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, they found Schroeder inside the home, holding a young child hostage and possibly armed with a knife. A woman who was also in the house managed to escape.
