On the evening of October 29, 2016, tragedy struck on the southeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana, involving a young man named Kodi Levi Pruner. The 18-year-old male, who was a student at Franklin Central High School and a mechanic in training, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders rushed him to a local hospital in critical condition, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, October 30, 2016.
The investigation into the fatal
shooting quickly turned toward a family member. Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as the victim's uncle, 49-year-old William Zweck. According to reports from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred during an altercation that escalated, leading to the discharge of a weapon.
Following the shooting, authorities arrested Zweck. Prosecutors subsequently filed multiple charges against him in connection with his nephew's death. These charges included reckless homicide, a felony offense, as well as pointing a firearm and carrying a handgun without a license. The case highlighted a domestic dispute that resulted in the loss of a young life, leaving the community and family to mourn the untimely passing of the teenager.
