In the early morning hours of December 22, 2009, the life of 30-year-old Dewayne K. Garth was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting on the south side of Indianapolis. The incident unfolded around 2:45 a.m. on Percheron Lane, near the intersection of I-65 and Keystone Avenue.
According to police reports, a woman, identified as Garth's girlfriend, heard the sound of gunshots ring out from outside her home.
Shortly after, Garth entered the residence, stating that he had been shot before collapsing. Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene, but their efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
