On October 10, 2023, a shooting incident occurred at the intersection of Scotland Drive and Bank Place on the west side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Christian Peters. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to the scene just before 10 p.m. after receiving a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they found Christian Peters with gunshot injuries, and he was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
