On November 23, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a report of a person down at the Abbey Meadows apartment complex located at 259 N. Shortridge Rd on the east side of Indianapolis. Upon arrival, officers found 34-year-old Ousman Gasama sitting outside a building, covered in blood and suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Gasama was pronounced dead at the scene.
