On December 23, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the west side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 43-year-old Matthew Kelley. The incident took place in the 400 block of Lansdowne Road, a residential area, where officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched around 7:00 p.m. in response to a report of a person shot.
