In the early hours of April 14, 2020, the life of 15-year-old Keyvon Hall was tragically cut short on the 4000 block of Wittfield Street in Indianapolis. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call of a shooting just after 1 a.m. and discovered a violent scene with three individuals having been shot. Keyvon succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at the scene, while two other victims were also found injured.
Keyvon Jameel Hall, born on August 23, 2004,
had moved to Indianapolis from Sallis, Mississippi, in 2012. He was a student at Lawrence North High School. Remembered as a protective brother to his sisters and a great friend, he was known for being a respectful young man who loved his family. He enjoyed being an uncle and taking care of his nieces and nephews.
The investigation into the triple shooting that resulted in Keyvon's death is still active. As of now, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case. The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released by law enforcement.
The community was left mourning the loss of a young life amidst a concerning increase in youth gun violence in the city that year. Friends and family remembered Keyvon for his sweet and loyal personality. The investigation into his murder remains ongoing.
