In the autumn of 2016, a promising young life was abruptly cut short on the streets of Indianapolis. Juan Carlos Romero-Sanchez, a 16-year-old Hispanic male, was a student at Ben Davis High School where he was known for his academic diligence and his involvement in the JROTC program. Born in Puebla, Mexico, he was described by those who knew him as a kind and courteous individual.
