In the winter of 2017, the life of 27-year-old Tiffany Ann Greer was tragically cut short in what police determined to be a murder-suicide. On the evening of January 25th, authorities were called to the I-70 Mobile Home Park on the southwest side of Indianapolis, where they discovered a grim scene. Inside a mobile home, Tiffany and her 35-year-old boyfriend, Eric Harden, were both found deceased from gunshot wounds to the head.
Investigators concluded that Harden had shot and killed
Tiffany before turning the gun on himself. The tragedy was compounded by the presence of Tiffany’s two-year-old daughter, who was found inside the home, physically unharmed but having witnessed the horrific event. Neighbors reported hearing popping sounds earlier in the evening but did not initially suspect anything was amiss.
In the wake of the incident, Tiffany’s brother, Johnny Greer, shared that his sister had been attempting to end her relationship with Harden. He described his sister as a devoted mother who was rarely seen without her daughter by her side. Records indicated that police had previously responded to a disturbance at the same residence in 2015 involving an argument between the couple where property was destroyed.
There were no arrests to be made as the perpetrator, Eric Harden, took his own life at the scene. The case was classified as a murder-suicide, leaving a family to grieve a sudden and violent loss. The young child was safely removed from the home and placed in the care of a neighbor until child services could intervene.
