Charles Berrios Sr., a 50-year-old resident of Hammond, Indiana, tragically lost his life on September 30, 2017. Berrios, who worked as a mechanic for the city of Hammond, was fatally shot in the head while driving. The incident occurred as he attempted to block a car driven by a member of his family from being chased by another vehicle. This act of bravery ultimately cost him his life.
