On the early morning of July 7, 2016, a violent incident unfolded in the quiet residential area of Hammond, Indiana, claiming the life of a young teenager. John Lee Hennington, a 15-year-old male, was discovered suffering from a fatal gunshot wound in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street. The shooting occurred just blocks from his own residence, disrupting the stillness of the neighborhood around 1:30 a.m.
