During this time, she even received cruel calls from individuals attempting to extort money from her with false claims of holding Trevon for ransom.

tip eventually led police to a desolate, abandoned apartment on the city's northeast side, near East 42nd Street and Post Road, on the evening of Thursday, January 18th. Inside, they found Trevon's body. The scene spoke to a brutal end; investigators believed he had been killed at another location before his body was left in the vacant unit. His mother was left to identify her son through photographs of his tattoos, a heartbreaking confirmation of her worst fears. She later revealed the horrific details of his death, stating that he had been beaten, shot eight times in the head, had his teeth pulled out, and was set on fire.
In the years that have followed, Trevon Mann's murder remains unsolved, a cold case that continues to haunt his family. His mother has been a vocal advocate for justice, tirelessly seeking answers and keeping his memory alive. She believes that her son, who she said had been involved with a 'bad crowd' but was trying to change his life for his newborn son, was killed by people he knew and grew up with. She suspects that as many as ten to twelve individuals were involved in his abduction and murder, possibly because he knew too much about criminal activities in their neighborhood. Despite her belief that she knows who is responsible, some of whom she says are either deceased, incarcerated for other crimes, or still walking free in their community, no arrests have been made in connection with his death. The investigation remains open, and a reward for information that could lead to an arrest is still being offered.
