On the night of February 21, 2022, 56-year-old Barry Cade, a Black male from Indianapolis, Indiana, was fatally shot. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. in the 5300 block of West 34th Place. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot and discovered Mr. Cade outside of his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
