In the quiet community of Marion, Indiana, a tragic event unfolded on February 4, 2018, ending the lives of two teenagers. Corbin T. Tracy-Page, a 17-year-old Black/African American male from the nearby Gas City, was found deceased in what investigators determined to be a murder-suicide. A student at Mississinewa High School, Corbin was known for his love of music, collecting shoes, and his participation in track and cross-country.
The incident occurred at the home of 13-year-old Alainee
M. Byer, who was also found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. Alainee, a student at R.J. Baskett Middle School, was at her father's residence while he was at work. It was her father who discovered the tragic scene after being alerted to a potential problem at his home. Authorities believe that the tragic events were precipitated by the recent end of the relationship between Corbin and Alainee. The Marion Police Department's investigation concluded that Corbin shot Alainee before turning the weapon on himself. Consequently, no arrests were made in connection with the deaths.
Months later, the investigation into the firearm used in the murder-suicide revealed a darker story. Ballistic tests confirmed it was the same weapon used in a home invasion and homicide that had occurred in January 2018 in Jonesboro. In that incident, an 81-year-old man was shot and killed in his bed, and another man was wounded. Investigators identified Corbin Page as the shooter in this earlier crime, alleging he was accompanied by three other teenagers during the robbery. Following this revelation, two of the juveniles who were with Page during the January robbery faced charges of false informing.
