On a cold December evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, a violent altercation shattered the peace within the Williamsburg East Apartments. On December 2, 2018, 36-year-old Tyreece Duane Alexander, a Black male, was inside one of the apartments near 46th and Arlington when a heated dispute among a group of men escalated with tragic consequences. Gunfire erupted, and in the chaos, Alexander was struck. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene, his life cut short in the violent encounter.
