On the afternoon of January 11, 2019, police in Indianapolis, Indiana, were dispatched to the city’s west side following reports of a person shot. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. in an alleyway located within the 1300 block of Oliver Avenue. upon their arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported the injured man to Eskenazi Hospital for urgent treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the medical center. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Black male Onterio Pullins.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the violence. At the time of the incident, authorities did not release any information regarding potential suspects or a motive for the killing. Subsequent reports from local crime databases listed the case status as unsolved, with no arrests immediately made in connection with the fatal shooting.
