In the late hours of a Friday evening in Indianapolis, Indiana, the life of 21-year-old Joshua Durand Gery II was tragically cut short. On September 15, 2023, the young Black man became another victim of the city's ongoing struggle with gun violence. The incident that claimed his life unfolded in an alley on the northeast side of the city, a place that would become the final scene of his life's story.
