Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. AJ was a sophomore at Riverside High School, known for his love of football, video games, and dancing.

In the weeks following the incident, a 14-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with AJ's death. Due to his age, the suspect's identity has not been publicly disclosed.
