On the evening of September 11, 2019, 19-year-old Javon D. Bertram, a Black male, was shot and killed while sitting in his car on 23rd Street near Riverside Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was found in the vehicle and transported to a hospital where he later died. Police questioned another individual who was also in the car at the time of the shooting.
