On January 30, 2017, 14-year-old Anthony Hughes was fatally shot outside a Popeyes restaurant on West 16th Street in Indianapolis. Hughes, affectionately known as "Bug," was a student at Northwest High School and loved playing basketball. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM, and despite a rapid response from law enforcement, no arrests have been made in connection to his murder.
