In the spring of 2020, a young man's life was cut short in Gary, Indiana, leaving a family and community searching for answers. Khalil Parker Sr., a 24-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of April 7, 2020. The incident took place around 7:55 p.m. in the 1900 block of Carolina Street.
