On a summer evening in Indianapolis, a young man's life was tragically cut short, leaving a family heartbroken and a community searching for answers. On June 13, 2020, Robert James Christian III, a 23-year-old Black male, was shot multiple times in the 3000 block of Eastern Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m., and when officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Mr.
Christian with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, but despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead. Known affectionately as 'Lil Rob,' he was remembered by his family as a kind and loving person with a passion for dancing who brought joy to those around him. He attended North Central High School and had expressed his faith from an early age.
In the wake of the shooting, detectives began an investigation and interviewed witnesses to piece together the events that led to the young man's death.
