On August 25, 2020, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the east side of Indianapolis following reports of a shooting. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located in the 2200 block of Trade Winds Drive, near the intersection of North Shadeland Avenue and East 21st Street. Upon arriving at the scene around 5:30 p.m., first responders discovered a Black male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
