On February 11, 2015, the life of 23-year-old James J. Young was cut short in a violent incident on the Near Westside of Indianapolis, Indiana. James Young left behind a large and grieving family, including his father, James McGee, and his mother, Wanda Young. He was a father himself, survived by three sons—James Young Jr., Jameer Young, and Ja'Mion Young—and two daughters, J'Mionna Young and Amyah Young. His obituary noted that he was also mourned by his sisters, Monica Bridges and Shawnta Young, along with a host of extended family members and friends. He was laid to rest at Sutherland Park Cemetery following a service at the Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home.
