On March 1, 2021, a violent double homicide occurred in Indianapolis, Indiana, claiming the lives of two young women. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched just after midnight to the Postbrook Apartments located in the 4000 block of Cordell Street, near the intersection of North Post Road and East 42nd Street.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered 21-year-old female Ashanti Robinson and 23-year-old Patrice Jones suffering from apparent gunshot wounds on a walkway outside the residential complex. Despite the immediate response, both victims had sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
For several years, the investigation into the ambush-style attack appeared to stall, eventually being transferred to the department's Unsolved Homicide Unit. Detectives meticulously reviewed evidence, including surveillance footage from the night of the crime. The video captured critical moments leading up to the shooting, showing a minivan arriving at the complex and dropping off two individuals who then concealed themselves in the shadows. The footage later depicted the victims walking toward an apartment, unaware that they were being followed by a third individual who had arrived with the assailants. Moments later, the two hidden figures emerged and opened fire, striking the women multiple times.
In September 2025, a significant breakthrough led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with the murders. Police apprehended 25-year-old Tadijah Davis at a residence on Patricia Street without incident. Investigators allege that Davis served as the driver and played a key role in orchestrating the ambush. While Davis reportedly claimed she was forced to participate by the gunmen, authorities stated that video evidence contradicted her story, showing her casually walking behind the victims just before the shooting initiated. She has been charged with two counts of murder for her alleged involvement in the deaths of Robinson and Jones, while the individuals identified as the trigger pullers remained the subject of ongoing police inquiries at the time of her arrest.
