In the early morning hours of Friday, March 5, 2021, the life of 33-year-old Lawrence Williams was cut short by an act of violence in Indianapolis. Williams, a male, was discovered lying in the street in the 1800 block of Holloway Avenue, near Hillside Avenue and I-70, with injuries that were consistent with being shot.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a person shot.
Upon their arrival, they found Williams, who was pronounced dead by medics at the scene. Investigators from the IMPD Homicide Office began to piece together the events of that fatal morning, speaking with several witnesses in the area. These individuals reported hearing an argument in the street just before the sound of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn quiet.
Despite the presence of witnesses who heard the preceding altercation, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The case of Lawrence Williams' death remains an open and unsolved investigation.
