On the evening of May 13, 2021, a neighborhood dispute in Richmond, Indiana, escalated into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 46-year-old John Dee Day. The incident, which unfolded in the 1400 block of New Paris Pike, also resulted in the serious injury of Day's mother, 72-year-old Brenda Day, who was shot in the abdomen but survived. The conflict reportedly stemmed from an ongoing argument over a driveway.
