In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Indianapolis, the life of 30-year-old Dontez Warren was tragically cut short. On October 13, 2021, at approximately 1 a.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were patrolling the 3100 block of Graceland Avenue when the sound of gunshots pierced the night. Their investigation led them to an alley where they discovered Warren, a Black male, suffering from what would prove to be fatal gunshot wounds.
