In the early morning hours of Halloween 2021, Jalen Phillip Chatmon, a 28-year-old male, was shot on the near northeast side of Indianapolis. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person shot in the 3200 block of Hovey Street shortly before 2 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Chatmon suffering from a gunshot wound.
