On December 14, 2021, Romell Brown, a 20-year-old resident of Gary, Indiana, was found shot to death on the street. The incident occurred at approximately 2:21 p.m. when police were called to the scene at the corner of 500 Colfax Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brown lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
