In the early morning hours of April 30, 2022, a violent incident occurred at a residence in Gary, Indiana, claiming the lives of two individuals. Kathryn Naglosky, a 34-year-old White female, was inside a home located on the 4000 block of Polk Street when the shooting took place. The events unfolded before dawn, shattering the quiet of the neighborhood and drawing a swift response from local law enforcement.
Officers from the Gary Police Department arrived at the scene around 2:30 a.m.
following reports of a shooting within the residence. Upon entering the home to investigate the distress call, they discovered Naglosky unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. As police secured the premises, they found a second victim, 40-year-old Cindy Wolf, who was also unresponsive and suffering from gunshot injuries. Emergency personnel pronounced both victims dead at the scene.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office subsequently ruled both deaths as homicides caused by the gunshot wounds. The Gary/Lake County Metro Homicide Unit assumed control of the investigation, examining the crime scene for evidence and seeking potential witnesses. Despite the ongoing efforts of detectives and public appeals for information, no suspects have been publicly named, and no arrests have been made in connection with the double homicide. The case remains open as authorities continue to search for leads regarding the circumstances that led to the deaths.
