On a summer evening in Merrillville, Indiana, the life of 22-year-old Khamari Andrews, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On July 25, 2022, at approximately 9:11 PM, the sound of around nine gunshots pierced the night in the 7300 block of Noble Street. Responding to a call about the gunfire, Merrillville Police officers arrived at a scene of chaos where a vehicle crash had also occurred. Amid the wreckage, they found Khamari Andrews suffering from gunshot wounds.
