In the late summer of 2022, a young man's life was abruptly cut short on the east side of Indianapolis. On the afternoon of Friday, August 12th, police were called to the intersection of East 36th Street and North Hawthorne Lane. There, they found 23-year-old Wykhem Asha Hoosier on the ground, having sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Despite the quick response of emergency medical personnel, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
