On August 13, 2022, Josue Anaya, a 27-year-old resident of East Chicago, Indiana, was tragically killed. The incident occurred when East Chicago Police were dispatched to the area of 140th and Alder Street following reports of shots fired and a vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers found a crashed vehicle at the intersection with a male gunshot victim inside. This victim was identified as 18-year-old Rafael A.
