On the afternoon of September 2, 2022, deputies from the Parke County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a property on Hideaway Lane in eastern Parke County, Indiana, following a report regarding a death. Upon arriving at the scene approximately at 3:45 p.m., law enforcement officials discovered the body of Timothy Tomey inside a camper located near the Raccoon Lake area. An investigation into the circumstances of his death immediately commenced, and an autopsy subsequently confirmed that the 54-year-old White male had died from a gunshot wound, ruling the manner of death as a homicide.
As investigators examined the evidence at the scene, they identified the victim's wife, 54-year-old Angela Thomas, as the primary suspect. Authorities alleged that she was responsible for the shooting that ended Tomey's life. Following the investigation, Thomas was taken into custody and formally charged with murder. She was subsequently booked into the Parke County Jail, where she was ordered to be held without bond pending further legal proceedings.
