On a tragic morning in Indianapolis, Indiana, the life of a vibrant 21-year-old Black male named Elijah Lynal Mitchell was cut short. On December 2, 2022, police were called to the Hanna Bluff apartments on the south side of the city following reports of a disturbance. Neighbors had heard a heated argument erupt from one of the apartments, a dispute that was soon punctuated by the sound of gunfire.
