Private Robert Gene "Bobby" Padgett, a 27-year-old police officer from Alexandria, Virginia, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on February 4, 1959. Private Padgett had been serving with the Alexandria Police Department for two years when he responded to a domestic dispute at the intersection of King Street and West Street.
