Private Eugene Yoakum, a 31-year-old officer with the Alexandria Police Department, tragically lost his life on September 27, 1964. Yoakum was responding to a call of unknown trouble at an apartment complex located at 2906 Seay Street in Alexandria, Virginia. Upon arrival, he encountered a disturbance that quickly escalated.
