Police Officer John Whiteoak Buckley, aged 26, tragically lost his life on April 15, 1977, in Arlington, Virginia. Officer Buckley was responding to a bank robbery at the intersection of South Glebe Road and Columbia Pike when he was fatally shot. He was on his way home after attending traffic court when the robbery call was broadcast.
