Corporal Charles William Hill, a dedicated officer of the Alexandria Police Department, tragically lost his life on March 22, 1989, during a hostage situation in Alexandria, Virginia. Hill, who was 40 years old at the time of his death, had served with the Alexandria Police Department for 13 years and had previously been a member of the New York City Police Department.
