In the early morning hours of November 9, 2001, a single gunshot shattered the quiet outside a Holiday Inn on Greenwich Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia, forever altering the lives of a local family. Inside a friend's car parked in front of the hotel sat 20-year-old Zedric Daniels, a young Black man with his hair in small braids and a bright future ahead of him. That future was tragically cut short at approximately 2:08 a.m. when he was fatally shot in the head.
