Michael Kevin Saffran, a 45-year-old police officer from Chesapeake, Virginia, tragically lost his life on October 8, 2005, while responding to a bank robbery. Officer Saffran, who had been with the Chesapeake Police Department for 11 months, was a U.S. Navy veteran and a father of two.
