Maurice Lamont Mitchell, aged 38, tragically lost his life on September 15, 2013, in Norfolk, Virginia. The incident occurred late at night when police responded to reports of gunshots at a residence on West 29th Street. Upon arrival, they found Mitchell suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. This incident marked the 20th homicide in Norfolk for that year.
