In a tragic incident in the Burnt Chimney area of Franklin County, a 7-year-old boy, Shane Nichols, lost his life. The young male was at his neighbor's house when the fatal event unfolded. The neighbor, Jeffrey Ireson, was babysitting Shane and his 12-year-old brother at the time.
