In a heart-wrenching case from early 2024, a 10-year-old girl named Geanna Bradley died in Richmond, Virginia, as a result of chronic child abuse. The young female's death brought to light a period of immense suffering she endured at the hands of her supposed caregivers. Following an investigation into the circumstances of her death, a grand jury indicted three individuals in connection with the case.
The indicted caregivers were identified as 41-year-old Thomas Bloss, his 35-year-old
wife Brandy Bloss, and her 67-year-old mother, Deborah Giron. The trio faced a litany of charges, including murder and kidnapping. Court proceedings revealed disturbing details about the abuse Geanna allegedly suffered. Prosecutors presented evidence that included photos found on the phones of Deborah Giron and Brandy Bloss, which reportedly showed Geanna bound with duct tape. It was further alleged that she was confined to an enclosed porch, a mere five feet away from the refrigerator, and was fed only minimal amounts. The indictment also accused the caregivers of forcing her to sleep in a box.
The case also brought attention to the alleged mistreatment of another child in the home, the Blosses' four-year-old adopted son. He was reportedly found with bruises and injuries, including what appeared to be a human bite mark. Authorities noted that he was barely able to walk and had a very limited vocabulary at the time he was removed from the home. He required hospitalization for over a week due to his condition. The three defendants are being held without bail as they await trial for the extensive charges brought against them. The girl's biological father, Gerime Bradley, has been vocal about his pain and his focus on laying his daughter to rest while grappling with the horrific details of her final months.
