In the summer of 2017, a young life was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. Jacquesha Billie Clanton, an 18-year-old Black female, was killed on June 15, 2017. Just days away from her high school graduation, she found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. A fight in the 2300 block of North 29th Street escalated into a chaotic scene of gunfire. More than 30 to 50 shell casings were later found at the scene, a testament to the violence that erupted.
