Mabel Venable, an 89-year-old Black woman, was the first known victim in a series of murders that took place in Richmond, Virginia, between 1990 and 1996. She was found slain in her home on July 1, 1990, marking the beginning of what would later be referred to as the 'Golden Years Murders.'
