On a summer day in Richmond, Virginia, 89-year-old Mabel Venable, a Black female, was found murdered in her home on July 1, 1990. Her death marked the beginning of a dark chapter in the city's history, as she was the first victim in a string of killings that would become known as the 'Golden Years Murders'. The perpetrator preyed on elderly women who lived by themselves, creating a wave of fear throughout the community.
