Caridad Carol Stripe, a 30-year-old woman from Decatur, Alabama, was killed late in the morning on August 7, 2017, when violence broke out at the Courtyard Apartments on Acadia Drive Southwest. The call for help came in around 11:30 a.m., and patrol officers, firefighters, and ambulance crews rushed to the complex.
